The Roadside Tree, May 21 (2017)

A broad tree spreads its pink and violet branches through an exuberant canopy of emerald, turquoise, and yellow. Below, a lavender road and a line of fence posts trace the edge of a luminous green field. Painted in oil pastel during a May 21 roadside session in Georgia, this work brings the tree close enough to fill the view, following the movement of its limbs and the light caught between its leaves.
