Commissioned Original Paintings
Gyan Samara Art Studio welcomes commissions for original, one-of-a-kind paintings created in the artist's established artistic style.
Each commission reflects Gyan Samara's distinctive approach to color, composition, texture, and expressive mark-making. By commissioning a painting, the collector engages the artist for his creative vision, experience, and individual interpretation.
Pricing
Commissioned original paintings are priced at $5 per square inch, calculated using the following formula:
Length × Width (in inches) × $5 = Commission Price
For example, a 20 × 24-inch painting would cost $2,400.
Prices exclude applicable taxes, framing, shipping, handling, and delivery unless otherwise specified.
Deposit and Payment Terms
A 75% nonrefundable deposit is required before work on a commissioned painting begins. This deposit secures the commission and covers the artist's time, materials, and creative work.
The remaining 25% balance, together with applicable taxes and shipping, handling, or delivery charges, must be paid before the completed artwork is released or shipped.
Artistic Discretion and Revisions
Collectors commission Gyan Samara for his established artistic style, creative interpretation, and professional experience. The artist retains creative discretion throughout the painting process.
No revisions or alterations are included in the original commission price.
Any requested revision is subject to the artist's approval and is charged at 25–50% of the original commission price per revision, depending on its complexity and scope. The applicable fee will be quoted and agreed upon before additional work begins.
Shipping and Handling
Shipping, handling, framing, and delivery are additional unless otherwise specified.
Artwork measuring 36 inches or more in either dimension may incur additional oversized shipping, packaging, or handling charges as determined by the shipping carrier.
These charges will be calculated separately and communicated to the collector before shipment. The original artwork price remains unchanged.
Final Sale Policy
All commissioned paintings are final sale. Returns, exchanges, and cancellations after work has begun are not accepted, except where required by applicable law.
Damaged Artwork and Shipping Claims
Every commissioned painting is carefully packaged for shipment. In the unlikely event that artwork arrives damaged, collectors are requested to follow these procedures:
- Document the condition of the package. Photograph any visible damage to the exterior packaging before opening it.
- Document the unpacking process. When possible, photograph or video the opening of the package and the condition of the artwork upon arrival.
- Preserve all packaging materials. Retain the original box, protective materials, and shipping labels, as these may be required for an insurance claim.
- Report damage promptly. Contact Gyan Samara Art Studio as soon as possible, preferably within five calendar days of delivery, providing photographs and a description of the damage.
Shipping damage claims will be reviewed in accordance with the carrier's insurance requirements and applicable consumer protection laws.
The studio will assist with documenting and submitting eligible shipping claims. Any remedies required by applicable law remain available.
Accepted Payments
Online payments are processed securely through the studio website by credit card. Cash payments may be accepted for in-person transactions in the Greater Boston area.
Checks, cashier's checks, money orders, cryptocurrency, and alternative payment methods are not accepted.

Commission Payment Terms
