About the Painting
Dark rectangular glasses frame Chris’s green hazel eyes, their bold outlines contrasting with lively passages of peach, coral, gold, and cream. Fine curved marks gather into a silver beard, while a deep blue background gives the warm complexion a luminous presence. A friend of Alex, Chris became the subject of this portrait toward the end of 2018. The original is believed to measure approximately 24 × 30 inches. Painted around the same time as Lee, this work remained in Samara’s personal collection for years, reflecting his lasting affection for both portraits and the expressive character they captured. This portrait was part of The Painted Portrait Project collection.
Prints are acid- and lignin-free and made to last.
