About the Painting
Warm color and an upward gaze give this portrait from The Painted Portrait Project a compelling presence. Coral, rose, gold, and lavender move across Josh’s face, while turquoise accents connect the figure to a richly patterned blue background. Repeating coral diamonds contrast with the softer brushwork of his yellow-green shirt and the pale green space beside him.
Based on photographs taken in Josh’s Chicago home, this is the second portrait Gyan Samara created of him. Painted around 2020 during the artist’s South Loop years, the 36 × 36-inch original combines acrylic and acrylic house paint, finished with an acrylic gloss medium.
Recommended Sizes | Optimal Image Quality
20 × 20 cm, 30 × 30 cm, 50 × 50 cm, 70 × 70 cm, and 80 × 80 cm.
80 × 80 cm is the largest recommended size for optimal image clarity.
Oversized Reproductions | Potential Softening of Fine Details
100 × 100 cm, 120 × 120 cm, and 135 × 135 cm.
These larger sizes fall within the range of Printumo’s print quality guide. They remain available to order, but enlargement may introduce slight softening of fine details, particularly when viewed up close. Choose a size of 80 × 80 cm or smaller if crisp detail is your priority.
