Portrait of Bob White

Fine lines of cream, coral, gold, and pale blue trace the contours of Bob White’s face, gathering around bright eyes and a gently amused smile. White curls and cool blue clothing frame a portrait full of warmth and character. This work grew from an exchange between two artists: Samara painted Bob, and Bob painted Samara in return. Samara remembers a prolific painter whose long creative life followed a career in advertising. Bob joked that he had received the better deal, but Samara still treasures the portrait he received, a lasting record of their shared regard.
