Pineapple and Fruit on Red (c. 2019) | Gyan Samara

A tall pineapple rises at the edge of an abundant gathering of pears, grapes, and rounded red fruit, its blue green crown reaching beyond the composition. Behind it, deep violet marks sweep through a brilliant red background, while striped fabric carries turquoise, coral, and gold across the foreground. Created in oil pastel on red mat board, with the original believed to measure approximately 50 × 50 cm, this painting concludes Samara’s fruit series. Its generous layers of color and rhythmic marks celebrate the pleasure of returning to familiar objects and discovering fresh possibilities in their shapes, patterns, and arrangement.

Prints are acid- and lignin-free and made to last.
