About the Painting
An arresting gaze emerges from a cascade of blue, turquoise, and pale lavender in this portrait of Josh, part of The Painted Portrait Project. Warm passages of coral, gold, and crimson shape his face against a vivid lime-green background, while closely cropped features give the encounter an immediate, intimate presence. Begun during the pandemic in Chicago’s South Loop, the painting developed over approximately a year through alternating layers of oil pastel and oil paint on red mat board. The original measures 30 × 40 inches and remains one of the artist’s favorite works.
Prints are acid- and lignin-free and made to last.
- The natural finish enhances vibrancy and depth.
- Textured matte surface enhances depth without losing clarity.
- Framed options feature a handmade wooden frame from Italy.
Room images are illustrative and may not show the artwork at its actual scale. Please review the selected print dimensions, frame, and mat options before ordering. Colors may vary slightly between your screen and the finished print. This reproduction captures the appearance of the original’s layered marks, rather than their physical paint texture. Open edition prints are not individually hand signed or numbered.
Offered as an open edition paper print, this portrait brings bold color and a compelling human presence to a living room, creative workspace, or portrait collection. The original remains in the artist’s collection, framed in a teal-blue wooden frame. The original frame is separate from the print options offered here.
